“Dr Vestas Saves the Day!”

Dr Vestas has had a jam-packed schedule this week, since he had to take over from Number 1 Therapy Dog Clark Gable, who plunged head-first into a bindi patch on a walk last weekend, and had to have his beautiful beard and eyebrows trimmed short, as a result!

The Dr to the rescue! Donning his stethoscope and checkered bow-tie he ploughed right in there, 4-PAW drive engaged, saving the day!

What a busy week it was! The new dog trainer wanted to assess his skills, and whilst doing that, fell in love with his LONG WHITE EYEBROWS, (bindi free)! He performed in true, unflappable Dr Vestas style, and apart from snatching the odd treat when nobody was looking, and eyeing off a rubbish bin to raid, performed perfectly!

Then, he had a full list of new patients, all who required his debonair continental charm (he’s Danish, you know) and who needed his thorough clinical assessment. He never licked any of them, once, or searched their pockets for treats! Slickly professional to the end!

Finally Sunday, day of doggie rest, where he relaxes with a big, juicy bone, on the deck. Perhaps later, he’ll grace friends with his rakish presence, and maybe go for a leisurely stroll, then partake of a roasted lamb dinner, that he’ll share with Clark Gable, Bianca the Beautiful (Trainee Therapy Dog) and the happily retired grand dame, Arcadia, honoured first Schnauzer of the house!

Remember the Schnauzer motto in these turbulent times:

‘If you can’t fix it, pee on it, and walk away’!
